Peter Walker has kindly sent me digital copies of Fleet Faxes from 1998 to 2004. I'm not sure when the old Fleet News became a Fleet Fax but it seems to have fulfilled the same purpose!

I have converted the files to searchable PDF's and uploaded them so they are all there for you to browse at your leisure. Something to do in this tedious lockdown.

I am sure there must be many more Fleet News' or Faxes lying around in garages and lofts. It would be a pity if they were to be lost. So if anyone does have copies it would be great to get them digitised and uploaded to the site.

I've been mooching through these Newsletters, I have been amazed at how few names I recognise in even the Dec 1998 edition, only 10 years after I left my last ship. Most of the names I recognised where in HO, very few seafarers. Where did they all go? It must have been a very different world to that we knew in the 70's & early 80's.

Hi. I have a collection of Fleet News from late 70's Once I retrieve them I would gladly let you borrow them to digitize. It wont be until late in the year though.

Alan, the handsome young man I was with on British Promise? All those years ago? Could it be? Drop me a message thru here when you have the mind! Cheers - Dave Cartwright

I have just found this site, it's been great looking back at the old fleet news papers, reminds me of all those I sailed with who's names I had long forgotten. I was Enjineer cadet and J/E 1976-86

Keep up the good work
